Final Reflection

I have now finished everything and am pleased with the final results. With the workshop tasks I originally did them in lessons but down to confusion I didn’t save them to the blog and thought they were mere practices for the main group blog. However, I did go back and and complete the majority of the tasks. I also learnt about how to use photoshop and RSS feeds. I found the module very useful although I did have early confusion but feel it has worked at well.

Blog Reflection Update – Number 13

I have just finished my final workshop task. I took the pictures from when I travelled to Ireland earlier in the year to see the St Paddy’s Day parade in Dublin. I felt the picture’s really came out well and that I achieved the task to a good standard. I’ve really enjoyed the learning process for ‘Online’ and it has been one of my favourite modules. Since writing the group blog and carrying out the weekly tasks I have had numerous online articles published and I feel this experience has contributed massively to this. I hope you enjoy our group blog that has some really well written articles by all of us.

Workshop Task – Week 5

People From All Over The World Gather For ST. Paddy’s Day

The sky was as grey as ash, the temperature felt colder than Antarctica, but this didn’t ruin any spirits as thousands came out to celebrate St Paddy’s Day in Dublin.

The annual parade managed to grip the audience by having fresh and exciting floats from all over the world, and everyone joined in the jolly spirit by toasting St Paddy in a way that he would of liked us most to…by drinking Guinness.

The Dublin parade was as ever a great spectacle for all to see, we can only wait until next year to see if it can be topped.

Workshop Task – Week 4

One of the most recognisable models at Clarence Dock symbolises how a boy can take on the world in the way he wants. In Leeds you can be sure that eventually you will pass this sculpture, and for most people who have travelled up and down the country to go to university in Leeds, this will be a loving memory.

It’s simpleness draws the viewer in and as you gaze in to it you will see a disfigured mirrored version of yourself as your body loops round like a flowing roller-coaster. A simple reminder to anyone that you have been in Leeds.

Blog Reflection Update – Number 12

I decided to eliminate the ‘recent comment’ section on our welcome page as we were receiving a lot of spam. I decided to replace this with a search engine as the larger our site gets then the more it will be easier for people to access stuff. My most recent article was one about the playstation virus, and I did this as a lot of people want to know about it, and therefore people will more likely be searching for it over any other gaming stories. As I saw the success of the Royal Wedding search engine I am hoping that this problem will also be searched for as it is very much in the news recently.

Blog Reflection Update – Number 11

I have just had another article published and I feel that the skills I have been learning in ‘Online’ have really helped with this. I have also completed all but on of the workshop tasks that I will be finishing soon. The group blog’s deadline is approaching and I feel as a group we have thus far achieved good success from it. Personally the thought of carrying on the group blog is very much in my mind after the module is done, and I plan to get in touch with all the group in order to see if they want to carry on the tasks.

The design is also complete and we are very proud of it:

Also my section is ‘Games’ and here is an example of one of the articles within it; all the pictures are ‘legal for reuse’ and the writing is all original:

Finally I recently have added my first poll to the blog as I feel this is a good way to interact with the audience. It’s a light hearted poll with numerous answers and I have noticed big websites like ‘skysports.com’ have all used polls to great success, therefore I feel they are a huge part of gaining more followers:
